ADOPT-A-TRAIN 

The NC Railway Museum is delighted to announce that NOW you can adopt a train – locomotive, caboose, or railcar from our collection of heritage rolling stock! Your 12-month, symbolic adoption makes a great gift for your kids or loved ones, memorial recognition, or business promotion at the same time that you are supporting our mission of preserving and sharing North Carolina railroad history for generations to come!  

Adoption Categories:

Train Buddy” for Children” A donation of $50 minimum per piece of equipment for a 12-month, symbolic train adoption entitles your child to the following benefits:

  • A thank you/adoption certificate

  • Child’s name listed a “Train Buddy” Donor on an acknowledging sign placed next to the adopted train.

Friend”A donation of $100 minimum per piece of equipment for a 12-month, symbolic train adoption entitles you to the following benefits:

  • A thank you/adoption certificate

  • Your name listed as a “Friend” Donor on an acknowledging sign placed next to the adopted train

  • An acknowledgment of your adoption in the NC Railway Museum’s newsletter “The Telegrapher”

Sustainer” A donation of $250 minimum per piece of equipment for a 12-month, symbolic train adoption entitles you the following benefits:

  • A thank you/adoption certificate

  • A color photo of your adopted train

  • Your name listed as a “Sustainer” Donor, and your business logo (if applicable), on an acknowledging sign placed next to the adopted train for one (1) year.

  • An acknowledgment, including your business logo (if applicable), of your adoption in the NC Railway Museum’s newsletter “The Telegrapher” for six (6) months.

  • An acknowledgment of your adoption in the NC Railway Museum’s annual report

Benefactor”  A donation of $500 minimum per piece of equipment for a 12-month, symbolic train adoption entitles you to the following benefits:

  • A thank you/adoption certificate

  • A color photo of your adopted train

  • Your name listed as a “Benefactor” Donor, and your business logo (if applicable), on an acknowledging sign placed next to the adopted train for one (1) year.

  • An acknowledgment, including your business logo (if applicable), of your adoption in the NC Railway Museum’s newsletter “The Telegrapher” for one (1) year.

  • An acknowledgment of your adoption in the NC Railway Museum’s annual report

All adoption donations benefit the NC Railway Museum’s mission and restoration and renovation projects. As a non-profit organization your donation is 100% tax deductible to the extend allowed by law.
